April Fun Run
We are resurrecting a long-time Pikes Peak driving tradition this year – the ‘spontaneous’ Fun Run. We started doing these drives about 20 years ago when we were meeting for a monthly breakfast. Tom Croak proposed we go for a drive after breakfast – no prior planning, no agenda, just hop in our cars and see where we would end up. We all have beautiful cars, and the thought was we should enjoy driving them in our beautiful Colorado surroundings. The concept worked very well for a number of years before participation slacked off in favor of more structured activities.
Well, it’s time to dust off our spontaneity and hit the road again. Steve will be leading this initial drive. We don’t know what day it will be (date is tentative as it’s weather-dependent) or where he’s taking us or what we’ll find when we get there. He’ll be giving us hints as we get closer to the drive. Destinations could include the Paint Mines, Royal Gorge, Cave of the Winds, Georgetown, Idaho Springs, or even the Pueblo Riverwalk. Colorado is a beautiful place and the list is endless. The point of this activity is to enjoy the ride to get there.
