After several years of the previous iteration of our website, I’ve made a major upgrade of the site both in terms of content and appearance. The new site uses the WordPress content management system (CMS) which was originally developed as a blogging platform. WordPress has evolved into a more comprehensive CMS and now drives about 30% of websites on the web. Our new site incorporates both traditional static pages with content you’re used to, but also contains a blogging element which will be used to provide the latest Section news and event recaps. This also allows the membership the opportunity to comment and provide feedback on individual ‘Posts’. These will be found under the ‘Latest News’ heading in the sidebar. All ‘subscribers’ will receive an email notifying them of any new posts. All current Section members are automatically enrolled. If you do not wish to receive ‘new post emails’, you may use the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of the email. The site is also ‘responsive’ so that it automatically adjusts for different size devices. Please comment on this post to provide any feedback or suggestions on the change. I hope you like it!
I’m finding the website easy to navigate, but information, such as the cost of joining the Pikes Peak Club, is missing. Also, please consider including the temperature in F. Thank you.
