SUMMARY:Fall Color Tour
DESCRIPTION:We’re going on another Fall Color Adventure to Alamosa and Taos where we’ll check out the Los Caminos Antiguos Scenic & Historic Byway and New Mexico’s Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway. \nOn Friday\, 2 October\, we will drive south to Alamosa to check into our hotel and relax with our signature hospitality operation. Saturday\, we’ll traverse the Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area and Los Caminos Antiguos Scenic Byway. Our route will take us through Colorado’s oldest surviving community (San Luis\, 1851)\, its oldest parish (Our Lady of Guadalupe\, in Conejos)\, and one of its first military posts (Fort Garland). \nExiting the Byway\, we’ll continue on through the mountains to Chama\, NM for lunch before heading to our 2nd destination in Taos\, NM. Our route is a stunning\, highly scenic mountain drive with views of the  Brazos Cliffs and through Carson National Forest. We’ll pass through high-altitude\, remote grasslands and cross over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains before dropping down towards Taos. \nOn the way home on Sunday\, we’ll drive part of the Enchanted Circle Byway from Taos to Angel Fire. It circles Wheeler Peak\, NM’s highest mountain at 13\,161 feet. It offers alpine forests\, mountain passes\, and historic mining towns. Parts of “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” and “Easy Rider”  were shot here amid the stunning scenery. \nMake sure to sign up for this event\, it’s going to be memorable. Watch for more details in next month’s newsletter.
